Hi all,
I will be moving to Japan in the fall to attend graduate school for two years. My understanding is that I will need to pay for my expenses (tuition, housing, etc.) with a Japanese bank account. Once I arrive in Japan, I will need to transfer funds from my US accounts to my Japanese account, and was wondering what the best way to go about this is. Is there a particular bank/service to use for these purposes? I’ve seen things like wise and interactive brokers mentioned but is this better than just doing a direct transfer through the banks? I’ll be transferring a large amount at a time to cover these expenses. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
