I’m in the process of planning and funding a startup in the US (C Corp) this year. I was thinking that I’d probably have to re-establish my residency in the US to not have corporation double taxed or reduce complexity. That said, the cost of living is much better here than california and my wife and daughter are having a good time since we moved here a couple years ago. The C Corp will have at least 2 US employees this year besides myself.
Seen similar questions over the past years (including today) involving a US business and Japan, but none that mention a C Corp with ownership, let alone being the CEO. Was wondering if it’s possible to remain here for another year or two while the company is starting and things can be more remote rather than in office, and not be double taxed or maybe someone who can tell me the tax rates probably aren’t so bad for a company that’s operating at a loss (common for tech startups)?
Any insight would be great, thanks.
