I started a teaching job recently. I signed a fairly brief employment contract in order to get my CoE that establishes the bare minimum requirements for the CoE application such as the salary. I’m fairly happy with the terms stated, and it does of course explicitly say it’s an “employment contract” and that I’m an employee.
However, my employer said that next week they’ll provide me with “the contract.” I don’t know what it will say, but I’m not really interested in signing a second contract that will likely have predatory provisions. So I have 2 questions:
1. Does anybody else have a secret contract story, or have a link to websites talking about the secret contract issue?
2. Is it true that companies with more than 5 employees (such as my employer) are required to register you for Shakai Hoken before you start the job?
