Are mostly all 500 yen coins still usable at stores? For example, I know that they were once a complete silver color, and then transitioned to gold, then there were some two-toned, then there are some newer ones with more high-tech engravings and features to combat counterfeiting, but…while some vending machines probably won’t accept some of the older ones, will stores like Donki, Bic Camera, 100 Yen shop, Grocery, etc. still accept legitimate 500 yen coins being used for purchase even if they are from like the 1970s?
