So I was at yellow hat and asked the staff to look up my oil type/amount/filter.
The guy acts kind of annoyed and said the computer doesn’t have any data on Nissans. I was like… okay, we’ll I’ll just look it up for you then. So I go get my manual from the truck and bring it back and show him. One of the other staff sees this and tells the first guy that he can look up Nissans in their books since they’re not in the computer.
This first guy just seems irritated with me from the moment I talk to him.
I get my oil and filter and ring it up, and ask how much extra it would be to change the oil here, he says only 1300yen. It’s cheap so I just asked them to do it for me.
I come back an hour later and the same guy tells me they’ll never change my oil again because it was harder to change than they expected.
I also noticed after I left that they didn’t give me 1liter of oil I paid for that should have been left over. And I specifically told them beforehand that I wanted to keep the extra oil.
Soooo, is this normal at Yellow Hat or did this guy just not like me from the moment I walked in?

No, it’s extremely unusual. You should contact Yellow Hat’s office and let them know what happened.
You were probably too buff and it intimidated him. How was your body posture? Were you subconsciously flexing?
He was probably intimidated by your manliness.
But I gotta ask… You’ve lived here for a million years. Why would you ask here about the quality of service at Yellowhat rather than tell us how you chewed the bastard out for being rude to you and stealing your oil?
Yellow hat? More like Ass hat.
Anecdotally – a Japanese customer would complain about far less than that.
That definitely deserves a good ol’ fashioned finger waggin’.
I don’t go there simply because of their advertisements.
