First time in Japan/Tokyo with a 14 months

Been dreaming of visiting Tokyo and Japan since forever. Me and my wife were planning to go there for our honeymoon but the pandemic put a stop to it. Fast-forward a bit, we’ve booked a 9 day trip to Tokyo primarily in the beginning of December and our daughter till be 14 months by that time. Given our very welcome addition to the family, we recognize that the plans we had then will be difficult to execute with our little one nowadays.

We are therefore considering only staying in Tokyo for the full 9 days. However, we are very interested in visiting Osaka, but unsure if it’ll fit an itinerary where we only have 9 days to spend in the country.

Moreover, we’re contemplating whether we should be focusing our larger meals to reputable restaurant chains/malls as there is less likelihood of a long queue and I assume it’ll be alot more spacious than an Izakaya. I’d prefer to have tried an authentic omakase, but I’m unsure if it’ll be worth it with a toddler.

And the last point, we’ve been looking for good four star hotels that are good value for the money. Right now, we’re planning to stay at the Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower for the first half of the visit and for the latter part we’re looking at the Mitsui Garden Nihonbashi. They look like nice hotels but unsure if there are others who have stayed there.

Apologies for the paragraphs, I guess what I’m looking for could be concocted to questions around whether we can fit in Osaka, whether we should be limiting ourself to larger food chains (excluding street food on the go of course) and whether there are other hotel recommendations that would fit a family of three. I recognize I may not be the first one asking these questions, apologies if these are repeatables.
