Hi! We’re a family of 4 headed to Japan this summer for the first time, and after 3 days in Tokyo will be going to Kanazawa, Kyoto, then Osaka and back to Tokyo. We’ll be out of Tokyo for about 7 days so my plan was to use the Hokuriku arch pass to do Tokyo-Kanazawa-Kyoto-Osaka, then buy a Shinkansen one way back to Tokyo. Some people have suggested to just get the JR pass for the whole trip but it’s so much more $$ and I’m not sure it covers the Shinkansen back to Tokyo. Has anyone used the Hokuriku regional pass? Any thoughts?
