Does anyone have any insights on whether it is better to book through the hotel/lodging sites directly (if they can be translated to English), or if a “booking site” like [booking.com](http://booking.com), expedia, etc. is better? In North America and Europe, our experience is that booking directly through the hotel usually (albeit not always) gives a better price and we “feel” like we have a better idea of what we’re getting (exact room, included meals, etc). As a result, we don’t usually use booking sites. Wondering if we can/should do the same for Japan, or what other’s experiences are. Thanks!
