Hello! My younger sister and I will be heading on a last-minute trip to Japan next Saturday. Our family dog passed(we had him for 18 years) and I’ve known for years I would travel/escape after. But now, I’m stuck between a *vacation* or a *trip,* and the summer weather is definitely affecting my choices.
we will be in Japan 2 weeks and here are our options:
1. 5 days in tokyo, 4 days in hokkaido, 5 days in kyoto/osaka
2. 4 days in tokyo, 5 days in kyushu region (nagasaki, kagoshima, fukuoka), 4 days in kyoto/osaka
I’ve been to tokyo, nagoya, kyoto, and osaka before. I loved kyoto but didn’t click with tokyo, so I’m looking at more day trips outside of it(happy to hear recs.)
If it wasn’t for the weather, I would lean towards option #2 since I love adventuring outdoors and seeing new landmarks. However, I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for Hokkaido in June since the weather is so much nicer, and I imagine this would be much more chill and laidback than hopping cities.
Which option would be better for a mid-June 2024 journey?
