I’m leaving Japan next month.
My company tells me that civil tax and some other taxes will be deducted from my final paycheck. Apparently a significant amount.
For around 6 months now I’ve been emailing HR, asking in the office and trying to work out how much will be deducted.
Nobody can tell me. They say they don’t know and can’t tell me until the paycheck comes.
Is this normal? What’s going on here? Is there any way to calculate this accurately myself?
