I wanted to beat all the crowds so got up very early and arrived at the shrine just after sunrise. But it was still busy with a queue. Even hiking up to the top there was plenty of people trying to take photos without anyone getting in the way! Not sure why there are so many hardcore tourists like me, I was hoping to at least get some snaps of the gates without people in.
