I’ve recently gotten really into gardening, and have dreams of eventually growing enough food to replace up to 75% or more of the food me and my family consume in a year.
We haven’t picked a forever home in Japan yet, but we have been looking at Okinawa.
One of the main draws for me is the ability to grow food pretty much year round.
However, I read that most venomous snake bites in Okinawa happen to farmers. Am I setting myself up to get bitten eventually by deciding to create / tend a big garden in Okinawa? Are Habu a big risk for gardeners?
TLDR:: Is it risky to have a big vegetable / fruit garden in Okinawa with Habu around?
