While my partner lived in Tokyo, they obviously got haircuts there monthly. When moving back to the U.S. we’ve tried to find hairstylists that could replicate the same techniques used in Tokyo but even hairstylists immigrated from Japan living in the U.S. can’t seem to pull off the same cuts.
We’ve tried several salons, but no one is cutting hair the feathery way Tokyo hairstylists do. Is there a name for the technique they’re using or a tutorial even to try and cut in the style you see so often there? I’m assuming the schooling and techniques taught in Japan are very different and therefore the results are what we desire. We’ve even tried Korean hairstylists, because sometimes the style can be similar. This didn’t work either.
We’re at a loss on what to do next so any help would be great! I’m not sure where to best ask this, but thought this place would be a start. Thanks.
