So this is my first time visiting Japan for a business trip. I work for a biotech firm and we are officially launching a technology and an equipment during the Interphex exhibtion. In line with this event, I was tasked to perform networking and to secure meetings by inviting Japanese firms to visit our booth to demonstrate our technology and device.
for starters: I have no previous experience dealing with any Japanese networking/ marketing works before since I was mainly on the research and R&D side of the operations.
So i’m very confused and I’ve no idea where and how to find leads, and I also read that cold calling or cold mails are illegal so i’m clueless on how to even begin to approach them even if I do find some potential companies. And I don’t speak any Japanese apart from a jlpt N3 level i somehow got 3 yrs ago.
Does anyone have had a similar experience and I would really appreaciate any suggestions on how i can even begin and crawl my way out of this task. Thank you very much
