Hello,
Coming to Japan (my first time) in a few weeks time. My first 3 days would be in Tokyo (as my primary reason for being there is for a concert). I have itineraries around Tokyo, but would like to add a day trip to Yamanashi for Fuji viewing.
Since this is the only time I would be out from Tokyo, I guess a Tokyo Wide Pass might not pay off? Meaning, other than my Yamanashi day trip, I would pretty much survive on Tokyo using IC, yes?
Any way, as such, am planning to buy a ticket from Shinjuku station to Kawaguchiko station. Some questions:
• If I buy a ticket (not a pass), would I still be required to disembark and change trains at Otsuki station? I would rather ride the E353 all the way 😅
• If I buy a Shinjuku-Kawaguchiko ticket, can I get off at Shimoyoshida station (for a Chureito trip), then hop back to finish the Shimoyoshida-Kawaguchiko leg of the trip? Or would getting off at Shimoyoshida “invalidate” / “consume” the ticket (meaning I have to have a separate Shimoyoshida-Kawaguchiko ticket)?
Thanks for your help. I know overplanning might take the joy out of my trip, but this is my first Japan trip and (other than the concert), I would like to maximize my time there.
Thank you!
