Hello! I have been offered a job where they pay for an apartment. They have told me I would have a roommate ("you will have one room-share mate"). In the UK roommate means sharing one same bedroom but I think in the US it is used interchangeably for flatmate so I'm not sure what they mean. I have asked them to clarify but in case anyone here knows how this term is more commonly used in Japan.
