Student visa question

Hello everyone

I am an incoming student to Japan this September, and I have a question regarding the visa process and financial documentation.

My university has requested that I show a bank balance statement in my sponsor's account, amounting to approximately 1.8 million JPY. They have specified that it is sufficient to provide a bank balance statement reflecting the required amount, without the need to show a statement covering the past 6 months or a year.

However, I am concerned about whether this approach will affect my visa application. As someone who does not come from a wealthy background, the best I can do is to gather the required amount from family and friends temporarily and return it later. My primary concern is whether this will impact my visa application, given that the embassy also requests a set of documents, including the sponsor's bank statements.

Could anyone who has been in a similar situation share their experience and advice? Specifically, what are the exact documents the embassy asks for in relation to the visa application? Any insights on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Additional Financial Information

I think I need to explain my financial situation and expenses in Japan more clearly.

Everything mentioned below is in JPY

Tuition Fees:
– Total duration of the course: 2 years
– Year 1:
– Semester 1: 516,000 JPY (Tuition fee + admission fee)
– Semester 2: 316,000 JPY – 190,000 JPY (scholarship) = 126,000 JPY
– Year 2:
– Total: 715,000 JPY (357,500 JPY per semester) – 190,000 JPY (scholarship)

I have been assured by the university that I will receive at least a 30% scholarship on tuition fees, amounting to 190,000 JPY each year.

Living Expenses:
– The university has quoted average expenses at 100,000 JPY per month, totaling 1,200,000 JPY per year.
– The university has asked me to show proof of first-year living expenses and first-year university fees.
– I already have the Semester 1 and Semester 2 fees covered. For Year 2 fees, I plan to receive funds from the person I have lent money to.

Additional Considerations:
– I am considering initial expenses like flight, room rent, insurance, etc., and plan to have 200,000 JPY on hand.
– For living expenses, I plan to rely primarily on part-time work.

Sponsors:
– My brother and aunt will sponsor me, but they keep their money in business (current) accounts. I am uncertain if this can be considered for financial documents.
– Can property (assets) be shown as savings?

Monthly expenses in Japan
– Rent(including electricity, water and gas) – 38,000
– Wifi and mobile – 10,000
– Food- 30,000(At max, can be less too)
– Transportation – 10,000(still on the high end as I will be travelling through bicycle for commute)
– Other expenses(Insurance, miscellaneous) – 10,000

My university is in Kyoto so I think this budget is enough for a student.

While my initial post might seem like I am temporarily addressing the financial requirements, I have a well-thought-out plan. However, I need guidance on the best approach.

Could anyone advise on the best course of action in this situation?
