Student Visa and Job Hunting

Hello, I plan to move to Japan sometime between 1-1.5 years from now. Currently, I work as a professional software developer in a large company. I have 1 year of experience in work and a bachelors in CS from a top school. Ive been doing quite intense self study for a few months and am currently somewhere between N4-N3 (close to N3 Kanji).

I've done some research on the easiest paths to Japan, and made a plan with two options. First, 11 months from now I will begin searching for a software job. I will attempt for around 3 months to get an offer.

If finding a decent job seems impossible, I plan to get a student Visa and go to Japan and just look for jobs while studying at a language school and improving my resume on the side .

Questions: Am I legally allowed to job search on a student Visa? I know there's job seeking visas and Id have to change my status, but can I just look for jobs on a student Visa, and then drop out right when I get one and then change my status? Are there any consequences for this?

Is 35k USD enough for 1 year in Tokyo, including all plane, tuition and rent costs? From previous research it seems fine.

Is this a reasonable plan?

Is hiring a recruiter worth it?

Thank you.

Btw if you have good school recommendations please provide them (Tokyo) (Not ISI)
