i’m going to japan this fall. we plan to travel from tokyo, to suwa, to nagoya, to shizuoka, and back to tokyo. i’ve noticed that there are different types of lines – jk, jc, jf, cf, etc – and i’m not sure whether these are important when selecting the method of payment. i’ve heard that jr pass isn’t worthwhile anymore in most scenarios and that suica is probably the way to go, but i wanted advice on that front. and, if suica is the best way to go, then which app is the official one for android? there are a few that claim to be card readers, but i don’t think that that’s what i’m looking for.
