When you read Japan related subs, incl this one, do you also feel like everything is on fire?

It’s like you open Reddit and it just goes: yen weak life bad, boss/work bad, depressed, news related to harassments of all sorts (I’ve seen at least 3 in the past three days) yada yada. It makes it feel like this country/people are doomed, there is no way out and everyone just suffers.

I know you’ll say just don’t scroll Reddit, yet it’s also one of the best ways to find activities to do in Japan, see the most recent and relevant info, find useful tips, connect with other residents etc (for me personally)

My question is – how much does seeing all this affect your outlook on life here? How do you deal with this or what positives do you find in your everyday life here that you hold onto?

I’m also aware that people tend to post more negative/out there type of stuff that they need to get off their chest, so I’m just asking to hear your thoughts.

Edit: I really appreciate all the responses and I read all of them. Thank you so much for sharing!
