Hi folks

Travelling late September to mid October 2024.

Appreciate any tips/observations/must sees on our itinerary based on below. Our itinerary is not yet set in stone. Welcome any commentary on the pace and number of days in each location.

*Travelling with 8/10 yo kids

*first adventure/explore style holiday

*interests – culture, historical sights, nature and food.

*Not that interested in shopping or too much of the modern.

Wanting a good mix of sights and rnr and moderate pace trip and some room for spontaneity

Tokyo 7 nights/6 full days

*Arrive late evening Hotel Tobu Levant close to Kinshicho station.

*1 day of general orientation, local sights, obtaining Suica and JR tickets etc.

*4 days of seeing the main sites daily divided by area. Interested in Ameyoko/Sensoji/Skytree/Imperial palace/Shibuya/Meiji Jingu/Shinjuku/Oimode Yokocho.

*1 day at Disneyland (hotel has free shuttle). Not overly fans but never done Disney.

*Send our bags via Yamato to Osaka and take day bags only.

*depart morning via Fujiexpress for next destination

lake Kawaguchi 2 nights/1.5 days

*arrive midday. Staying in Ryokan Asafui with traditional breakfast and dinner experience and lake/Mt Fuji views

*1.5 days general rnr, onsen and maybe walks/bike rides

*Morning departure by bus or private driver/taxi to Mishima to then pick up Shinkansen to Osaka.

Osaka 3 nights/2.5 full days

*Arrive Universal Port Vita Hotel in afternoon relax in area check out USJ city

*1 day pass to USJ with express pass

*One day/evening sites of Osaka – mainly interested in Dotonbori and Castle if time permits (I expect we will be over big cities by this time)

*Send out bags with Yamato to Kyoto and take day bags to next destination.

*Morning Shinkansen departure for Hiroshima

Hiroshima/Miyajima 3 nights/2.5 days

*Arrive Hiroshima Midday- staying Royal Rhiga

*1 day Bomb related sites/Museums/Peace Park

*1/2 day food halls and other city sites

*1 full day trip Miyajima

*Morning Shinkansen to Kyoto

Kyoto 4 nights/3.5 days

*Arrive hotel Gion Elite Midday

*1/2 day general sites/temples and walking back streets in local area

*1 day Arashiyama sites, rickshaw ride and perhaps river ride -also Kinkakuji

*2 further days general sites/temples/markets streets around Kyoto ie Nishiki Market, Pontocho alley maybe out to Nara..

*Late departure for flight home via Hello Kitty express
