arriving in Tokyo after midnight

My friends and I got a really good flight deal, the only catch is that we would land in Tokyo Haneda at approx. 12:15am and we need to get to Osaka.
We are ending our trip in Tokyo and starting in Osaka.
What are the best options for us?
Any help is greatly appreciated 🤠

  1. Cheap capsule hotel might be your best bet unless there’s a sleeper train running at that time.

  2. The reality is you might not get out of the airport until 2am could you not get a cheap pod hotel for the night? If not I guess the only way to get to Osaka that kind of night is via Taxi. Either that or pull an all nighter I believe the first trains are around 4:30am.

  3. Land at 0015? Add in probably 1-2 hrs for deplane, customs, and bags. Honestly, if you really need to be in Osaka early, I’d just stay up until the first trains around 0500, head to Shinagawa via Keikyu Line, and take the Shinkansen from there.

  4. You have two options:
    1. Get a hotel room for the night near Haneda (you most likely will have to take a taxi there) and continue your journey the next morning.
    2. Wait till 5 am at the airport and take public transportation to Shinagawa where you can catch the first Shinkansen.

  5. There’s a capsule hotel at Haneda terminal 1. If you’re already at the airport, I’d recommend an internal flight the next morning. JAL flights to Osaka are often cheaper than the Shinkansen. That’s what I did: landed Haneda from the UK at 7am and got the 11am flight to Osaka. Even got a sweet view of Fuji from the plane!

  6. There are hotels inside the airport. I stayed at Villa Fontaine and it was surprisingly great.

  7. OP thanks for asking this question just in case you know. Are there any buses running or a cab.

  8. Sleep at a hotel connected to Haneda, go to Osaka after you wake up. You don’t want to start your trip more sleep deprived than you’ll already be.

  9. The first plane leaves to osaka at 8 a.m. just sleep the few hours you have at the airport, you’ll be in osaka at 9:30

  10. stay at the airport and catch the first train with all your luggage at 5am you will be less of a bother

  11. It sounds like you are doing travel wrong lol. Osaka has an international airport. You will have to pay for a flight or bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka. Probably nothing available after midnight, so you will have to wait until morning.
