Has anyone been allowed by the tax office to pay their resident tax a month or so after the deadline

EDIT: I meant the city office where I was previously registered instead of the tax office.

Hi! I tried searching for past reddit posts but could not find anything that directly answers my question. Also, I will be calling the tax office next week, but I just wanna know if someone had been in the same boat before as I am right now.

A little background: I started my new job last April, and this has been my first switch since coming to Japan. I did all the preparations I could to have a smooth transition. Recently, however, I have noticed that my salary in my new job had significantly low deductions compared to my previous one. I realized then that they were not deducting me of my resident tax, and I asked HR about it, and they said that they will start the deductions next year, and for this year's payment due, I have to pay it on my own–in four installments.

My problem: I have not prepared enough money for my first tax payment due, which is due on July 1st.

My question: Do you think the tax office will allow me to pay it at the end of July without marking it as a delayed payment. I am not going to apply for PR in like 5 years, but I don't want it to be a bump in any of my applications in the future.

Thank you!
