Hi everyone!
My family and I have purchased tickets to Japan. There's 5 of us going – my wife (37) and I (37), and 3 kids (21, 15, 15). It's a 16 day trip including travel. We're Mexican-American and this is our first time traveling as a family to a foreign country that is not Mexico. We plan on visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Iwakuni area (including Hiroshima), and Mt. Fuji, with a couple days remaining to chill in Tokyo at the end. If that's too compressed, please let me know!
We're looking into airbnbs since there's 5 of us and we want a minimum of 3 bedrooms. Is this the best way to go? Also, can anyone help us out with a private onsen/spa with a couples massage location? We both have tattoos and I hear that public onsens are probably not the best for us. The wife and I really enjoy relaxing activities and we figure it would be great to get a soak and massage after all the walking we'll be doing.
Any tips on luggage tranportation service? I would really prefer not to carry our baggage on the trains between cities.
Also… Universal studios… is it worth it? I'm a HUUUGE Godzilla fan boy so that's on the list.
We have a while itinerary that is centered on temples, museums, and other touristy type locations. I'd love to hear if there are any festivals near the end of November. We're looking for a typical tourist experience but I would love to hear some recommendations about less known things to do.
Lastly, Google translator? Should I hire an interpretor? 🤷♂️ Is there a real time translator device/app yet?
I hear Osaka has a Chicano influenced sub culture. Any insight on that?
Thanks everyone!
