I’m an Iraqi student planning to apply to a university in Japan to study computer engineering there.
I’ll apply to the University of Tokyo but I know my chances of getting accepted is very low so I looked into other top universities and waseda and keio were one of them.
It seems that there is a bit of a rivalry between the two universities and i hear different opinions about the them.
I heard many good things about keio and a lot japanese people seem to prefer it
But waseda however has higher rankings and a lot of successful people graduated from it. And the location is much much better
I want to know about how the japanese people and Japanese companies see the two universities. What are the two universities known for there? Which one is better when it comes to science and engineering? How is the student life there in general? What type of students do they have? And many other questions.
I just want to know what do people think in general about these universities.

Todai will leave a fancier impression on your resume. Just apply for both.
I can’t answer all your questions, sorry. But I’d say there is little difference between Keio and Waseda in terms of their reputation. They are both considered a great school and you’d have much better chances of landing a job in Japan than people from other ordinary schools.
