Had award tickets booked for myself, wife and the kids since March of this year and yesterday out of the blue ANA cancels the entire route (or, it seems the route wasn’t even active to begin with and they were assuming they would open it by the time November rolled around) NRT to JFK.
After 2 and a half hours of holding we get told that there’s only two available reward seats in pretty much any flight and so they have to request headquarters for an exception and it takes 2 business days to see if it gets approved or not.
Wife is livid as she believes since ANA cancelled the route, they should give us seats on an alternative route (Same but HND instead) regardless of how many seats they have confirmed for award etc etc. I agree but I feel it s a losing battle. We’re really getting fu.ked here.
Anyone else dealing with this nonsense? Will the waitlist BS actually get approved?
