Yes, we are traveling as a big group of 11 people this upcoming late June – early July (crossing my fingers it won't be raining too much). We're primarily staying in Kyoto for 10 days (then my immediate family comprising of me, my mom, and my brother will be staying in Tokyo for 2 days).
My mother is allotting $1,500 (around ¥235k) food allowance for the whole 10 days. Other family members have some money to bring, so we will see how much they will be able to contribute. Some burning questions I have are:
Is this budget enough to feed 11 mouths, or should we increase it?
Are there good budget food places apart from the izakayas or convenience stores in Kyoto? (I've been looking at Tabelog but haven't made reservations yet; any recommendations are appreciated especially for a big group!)
