Just back this weekend from Tokyo and had a great stay at the new Hyatt House. It's been open a month or two. Clean and nice sized rooms. Pool that was empty every time we went. It's on the quiet west side of Shibuya station. There were easy access points right into Shibuya Station to get anywhere in the city quickly.
Further west from the hotel is a nice residential neighborhood with small restaurants tucked in it. I feel that it was a real gem. 3-5min walking from Shibuya Scramble, but completely shielded from the crazy.
We had a great breakfast at a small bakery behind the hotel called Parisienne. And a nice dinner at a Thai place called Arale. Three 20's girls running the place together. Great menu with pics. Not a word of English spoken in the place. Small bar and 2-3 tables. Food was smart, casual. Discounted Corona beers for extra fun.
