I am going to Japan for my second time, and would like to spend maybe a day, or half a day in a rural area just to kind of see what its like. We are going Tokyo-Mt. Fuji- Kyoto- Tokyo. Im hoping somewhere around Mt Fuji or Kyoto I could do some exploring just to see the out skirts or even a short trip to a rural area.
I speak very little Japanese so I probably wouldnt do any eating out or anything. I also dont want to bother anyone in these areas or be "touristy". I kind of just want to hang out and relax.
Any recommendations on where to go, how to get there, and things to do once im there that wont annoy any of the locals?
