Hello everyone, I am taking a trip to Japan soon and I recently bought my JR-West "Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass" from the official JR-West site: "www.westjr.co.jp"
I am able to reserve seats in other Shinkansens on the date I want to do the Hello Kitty one, but not the actual Hello Kitty Shinkansen. I have tried searching from Shin-Osaka to Hiroshima and the full route from Shin-Osaka to Hakata (which isn't covered by the Kansai-Hiroshima rail pass) to no avail. I keep getting other regular Shinkansens just not the one I want. I have also verified that the Hello Kitty Shinkansen is running at that date and time here: "https://www.jr-hellokittyshinkansen.jp/en/"
It says on their website that the pass is valid for the train to Hiroshima but I am not seeing the ability to reserve ahead of time online. Is this a train that you have to reserve in person when you pick up the pass?
