Thank you to everyone who responds and helps travelers like me with Japan travel. This is my first time in Japan, gay man in my 40s, not a partier or late night person, love to swim, natural beauty, wandering foreign neighborhoods, great coffee and delicious food (no meat but love seafood).

What I want to see/do:
Okinawa: Zanpa, Emerald, Kerama Island: Aharen, Tokashiku, Nishibama beach (day trip from Naha)
Kyoto: Arashiyama, Otagi Nenbutauji Temple, Gion, Kifune Shrine, Nishiki Market food tour, philosophers path, GEAR theatre, Fushimi Inari
I’ve thought about going to Nagano or Hokkaido but not sure if they are too far or what to do there. I’m open to flying or using public transit to get places.
What do you think I should do or where should I go to fill my open days?
