Hello, I am moving to Japan In a month, I wanted to ask everyone how it went for them securing a place while not being in the country? I am a student, I do have a pet (I know that is a big issue but I’ll work through it, already did all the hoops of vaccines etc). A share house isn’t an option and I have a real estate agent, but honestly don’t have much faith in them but obv my options are limited. I do have a host family that can check out stuff for me if I ask and they also have a Japanese # they offered to let me use until I get my own.
What would your advice be to make this as smooth as possible? Open to suggestions , looking around shibuya and shinjuku areas, can branch out. I saved up and can cover all the crazy costs involved with renting, so I’m as prepared as I can be.
