For context I am an Australian Citizen living in Japan currently.
I am currently at a language school in Japan and my visa is set to expire in December of this year. I have the option to renew my visa to study for additional year. I recently received an offer to work as a ski instructor. Unfortunately I still need additional work experience in the ski industry to qualify for the Instructors Visa, something I can't get in time for this upcoming season. My other option is to obtain a Working Holiday Visa.
My main concern is how long or what I'd need to do to change status. I believe I qualify for the WHV in theory but I was hoping it would be something I could apply for whilst staying in Japan. If I do need to go back to Australia, how long would I have to remain there? If anyone has any advice please let me know! Thank you.
