This actually happened yesterday afternoon.
I usually walk around with my raincoat between my backpack straps, and yesterday it fell somewhere. When I realised I didn’t have it, I retraced my steps around Miyashita Park and decided to check the crosswalk as well.
I saw my raincoat hanging on the railings next to the sidewalk and I breathed a sigh or relief.
Had it been any other jacket*, I wouldn’t have cared as much, but it’s a gift from my mum and I felt super guilty about losing it.
While I was waiting for the traffic light to turn green, I noticed my jacket wasn’t there anymore.
I thought maybe it got picked up by the wind or something, or that someone brought it to the shops/koban around the area, or to the lost and found in Shibuya station, but nope.
When I got to that side, it was gone.
Disappeared without a trace, in less than 30 seconds since I spotted it. Left me baffled.
I checked at the shops, the police station and the lost and found in the station yesterday as well as today, but they got nothing.
If anyone has any other suggestions (besides not putting coats/jackets between the straps of my backpack), please let me know.
I’ll try again tomorrow, and make a report as well, but I don’t think they’ll find it…
