I thought I read somewhere a home in the name of a foreign owner that leaves Japan could cause some concerns.
What are the pros and cons of buying a home in Japan and putting the deed into the Japanese spouses name vs putting into foreign nationals name?
Would there be any concerns if we leave Japan and keep the home?
How would the bank view this?
Would the bank approve a loan based in the foreign nationals income with the deed in the name of the Japanese spouse?
If our income primarily comes from the foreign national and the deed is in the name of the Japanese spouse would paying the mortgage or putting down a deposit be considered a gift?
