Leaving in a week for Japan and tried to buy shinkansen tickets in advance. I purchased tickets, then the next day I couldn't log into my account.
I called and they said my account was somehow flagged for fraud (they said it had something to do with my credit card, which is weird, I checked and the charge went through). They said I should create a new account with a different credit card.
So I did, using a Visa instead of a MC, bought the tickets and printed off the QR codes, and again I can't log in a day later.
Does anyone know, is it just impossible to purchase tickets online from the U.S.? My Visa card actually texted me a verification code during the purchase, so I don't think it is a fraud issue this time.

Last week when I paid my 2 rooms directly with the hotel from overseas, the first payment went through successfully the second returned a server error.
While on the call with the hotel, the first confirmed booking was also strangely cancelled by the system.
It was only then 5 mins later, I received a call from my bank asking about potential fraudulent transactions. Apparently me not mentioning I’m conducting a local transaction triggered the fraud rule.
You said the charge went through but still might be worth talking to your bank.
