….What? How? I think I need a diagram of this. My brain just can not comprehend someone’s “neck caught in an escalator”.
She was pushing one of those shopping basket/seat things, and when she got to the bottom of the escalator she fell. The movement of the handrail drew her underneath them, and her neck got jammed.

Ouch.
I’m guessing she took the stairway to heaven and not an escalator.
When the grim reaper has a vendetta against you.
What a terrible way to go.
I still remember the elevator incidents. Jesus I thought these escalators were made in a way that things couldn’t get caught. I only just watched a video on it the other day.
All the comments on the YouTube: “Old people should take the elevator” “Don’t use the escalator with the cart” “Even my 40 year old salaryman self gets nervous carrying a suitcase on an elevator” “I really hope they don’t start making escalators out to be the bad guy” “Play stupid games win stupid prizes”
There was a similar incident happened in the Philippines way back like 19 years ago. The shoe lace of the person got caught by the escalator’s moving steps and the person’s leg got amputated
People use escalator all the time and we tend to forget it can be quite dangerous in an unexpected way.
And if you’re wearing loose clothings or shoes, you can easily jam yourself if you are not paying attention. That happened to me as a kid when my shoe got caught on escalator and I was lucky I was able to pull my foot out or I would have suffered fractured foot.
That poor woman, huge childhood nightmare of mine so I can’t even imagine.
