Applying to Japanese university as an IB student

Hi, I'm a year 12 IB student thinking of applying to Japanese universities to study bio-related subjects, and I have so many questions that kinda stress me out.

Firstly, I heard Japanese universities have high standards for international students studying STEM programs, and I'm trying to apply for a full Japanese-taught course. I'm currently sitting on 42 points for my predicted, is this enough to get into universities like UTokyo or Kyoto? I got 7s in Math SL, Bio HL, Chem HL, and Eng B SL.

Secondly, I've been watching a sick ton of anime but wouldn't call myself good in Japanese( can understand 60% without subtitles), and yes I know I have to learn the "formal" Japanese. Before applying to any unis, do I have to take a gap year to study for EJU tests and get like really good scores? Or can I apply first and take intensive language courses once in uni? Moreover, since I already have English as one of my courses, do I need to take IELTS or TOEFL? (that kinda makes IB English pointless doesn't it?)

Lastly, I would like to know if their is any scholarships for international students like me form the Japanese government or if you have some tips for applying. Thanks!
