Local artists- is there hope to make any gallery connections when only speaking English?

I recently moved to Japan to live with my fiancé for the next few years and will continue painting here. However, I am starting to feel like I am wasting my potential because I am concerned about my prospects of getting into a gallery, especially since I live in Hamamatsu and only speak English. While I plan to continue building my online audience, I am wondering if there is any hope of connecting with international gallery owners and local art communities when I cannot attend all the exhibition openings and network.

Are there any international galleries or curators you would recommend keeping an eye on as I prepare my collection? Back home, I was very active in the events space, but here I feel very restricted without knowing Japanese. Any advice or suggestions on how to navigate the local art scene would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe there are any communities I should be aware of, or should I try exhibiting in restaurants and cafes? Thank you so much in advance
