I'm visiting Osaka and Nara and then heading to Kyoto for 3 nights in January. It's tricky to nail down a plan as there are so many different options and opinions to consider.
This is what I have so far – Arrive from Osaka early afternoon and stay in Gion. I don't have anything planned for the evening, but will probably just explore the immediate area. The day after, I tried to find some interesting landmarks that follow a walkable route and I came up with this. I don't know if these are the best things to see, but I figured I'd see some nice things along the way too-
Fushimi Inari Taisha
Tōfuku-ji Temple
Kiyomizu-dera
Yasaka Kamimachi
Hanamikoji Street
Shōrenin Temple
Kyoto Garden Palace
Is this a good selection or should I replace anything around this area?
The following day, would Arashiyama be the best option for someone that's never been, or should I consider somewhere else?
