Been looking this up online but hard to find exact answers so wondering if anyone else is in this situation. Half Japanese/British and I never got my Japanese passport when I was younger (however my parents did register my birth in Japan) as I thought I'd need to renounce my British passport, and this was pre-brexit when a British passport was actually worthwhile.
Now I'm in my late twenties and considering moving abroad and wondering if I can still get nationality via descent and if i do, does the same 'grey area' apply where I could keep my British nationality still? Most things I've read online are about when you've had dual nationality as a child and never renounced your other nationality but not found much about how to go about it when you've passed that threshold.
Any advice or anyone in the same boat would be v helpful thanks!
