That said, here is my "story": I am a French Master 2 student currently having an internship in Osaka University. For some reasons, I have decided to continue in my team for a Ph.D. However, I learned that you're not paid for that in Japan, so I will have to find some research grants/scholarships. Since I would be starting in October, and I believe it is too late for any scholarships, my research tutor has proposed to pay me by himself until next April. However, I have my pride, and I believe in the saying "Good fences make good neighbours", so I would avoid bringing money into my relationship with him as it mostly brings issues.
Does anyone know of scholarships that I could be asking for as soon as possible? I am not an exemplary student since my grades were mostly around 11/12, so merit-based ones would be harder to get …
