Tokyo second hand stores near stations and purchasing first goshuin-cho

Background: 35F staying near Shibuya station at the end of November. Unfortunately, in physical therapy for a bad back that currently makes walking long distances without breaks difficult hence hoping for stores being near stations. But I'm making gains!!

I'm not interested in clothes or cosmetics at all. If I could leave Japan with only 2 types of second hand treasures, it would be Sailor Moon and Ghibli. Although Gameboy color games would be awesome since I only own Frogger…

  1. I know of Hobby-off and Hard-off and will do my best to map them out. Can you please recommend any other non-clothing second hand stores or chains to visit that aren't more than a 20min walk from a station?

  2. Beyond Temples and Shrines, are there specific stationary stores I can go to to pick from a variety of goshuin-cho? I don't know what the stamp books look like at the Tokyo Temples and Shrines and don't want to have to commit on the spot to a book I'm not drawn to.

  1. The Book Off Super Bazaar in the Nagayama area (served by both the Odakyu Line and the Keio Line) has a free bus from the station to the shop.

  2. 2. Hands and Loft. Also many temples and shrines have webpages and show their book design on it.

You can look up goshuincho designs ahead of time: https://omairi.club/

  4. First, so sorry you are dealing with this pain had PT for lower back and pelvic issues and know how much it sucks

    Couple ideas
Nakano Broadway has lots of used collectibles. It’s a bit of a warren so map out the floors etc you want to visit. It’s a couple minutes from Nakano station. You can also rest in coffee shops etc

As you map out locations figure out the station exits with elevators and escalators. Every station has them but might not be the exits suggested by Google maps

  5. There’s usually multiple goshuicho to choose from. I’ve seen five choices at bigger temples/shrines.
