I just woke up to my bed swaying, house creaking from the movement and dogs barking. But I can’t find any evidence online that an earthquake happened. This happened few nights ago too.
TBF, Japan is always vibrating. I used to shop in a warehouse superstore in Fukushima that had the roof always loudly rattling.
Chances are, in your situation, you were just directly above the epicenter of a 2.0mag or less. You would have felt it more than usual, but hardly enough for any agency to register publically, let alone set out alerts for.
I use the tired and tested method of “House shaking = earth quaking”
The Weather News app on my iPhone. There is a list of recent ones in 地震 section of the app.

I use an app called QuakeFeed. Only downside is it’s a bit delayed. But has heaps of features and functions. I’ve used it for a long time now.
The NERV app is easy to use and is really accurate – it reliably lets me know about 15 seconds before it hits. Plus, it’s Evangelion themed!
