I'm 41F software engineer living in London, UK and currently planning to move to Japan.
My Japanese level is around N4, but I haven't tested it. I went to Japan in March and I was able to follow my friends conversation but I would now and then stumble on a few words which they would explain in English. Overall I was happy with my understanding and I think the exposure helped me evolve a lot faster as well.
Now I'm getting ready for the next step and I would like to hear the experiences of people who have done it before.
First I'm trans. I've already completed my transition, but I rely on hormone medication for life. How accessible are hormones in Japan? What other considerations will I need to consider in terms of health care?
Second, I have a cat. How is the process to bring a cat? Can I fly with them in the plane cabin? I couldn't do it when coming in the UK, so I had to plan a route through France. I wonder if it's possible to take a cat in the Cabin from Paris to Tokyo directly or do I need to find another route?
Thank you!
