There are small steps being made in the right direction, but unless people are ready to accept a little lower service level (not being able to always get what they want), companies and store owners are going to stay incentivized to keep the shelves stocked and throw out excess food.
I really hope they can pass a law regarding food donations, it would not reduce all the waste, but hopefully at least some people could benefit from it.
While we’re talking about SDGs and all that can we eliminate the plastic waste that is the fake green grass that they keep selling with the sushi?
Food waste is current Western food supply chain problem, not a Japanese issue.
It takes an attention to detail to maintain raw foods at safe levels in mass quantities.
I have more faith in a Lawson egg sando than an L.A. Big Mac.
