Right-wing nationalist hate rallies

I'm really struggling to understand the purpose of these right-wing nationalist hate rallies in Tokyo. What exactly are they trying to accomplish? And are these groups using taxpayer money to organize these events?

If they truly hate foreigners so much and want to revive the "great Japanese empire," wouldn't it make more sense for them to protest directly outside U.S. military bases? After all, these "foreigners" are technically occupying Japanese soil.

Protesting at the U.S. bases could be a more targeted and impactful approach, rather than just harassing harmless foreign tourists or residents in places like Ueno or Asakusa. Those foreigners are either bringing money into the country or supporting the pension system through taxes and contributions.

What are your thoughts on this?
