Itinerary check – Tokyo to Hokkaido

So this is to be one of my bucket list trips. Solo travel, I've been to Japan twice before, 1st time a week for Nagano and then again to Tokyo/ Kyotot for 12 days with various family. This time, its a me trip. 3 weeks of pure solo travel bliss.

I would love any suggestions about the feasability of my plan but also any recommendations/ advice.

26th February 2025 – Tokyo to Sendai

  • 7 am Landing in Haneda
  • Find some food and wake up
  • Get to Sendai for noon and drop bags at hotel/ trainstation locker
  • Find a restaurant that serves Gyuden
  • Afternoon – Aoboyama Park, Zuihidan Temple, Osaki Shrine
  • Evening – Oyster Shack

27- Sendai

  • Nikka Whiskey Distillery
  • Coach Tour
  • Sendai Asachi
  • Evening – Bar hopping tour

28 Sendai to Akita

  • Lookout terrace
  • Leave for Akita
  • Akita Akarenga Kyodokan
  • Senshu Park
  • Evening – no plans

29 Akita

  • Kakunodate samurai village (morning to early afternoon)
  • Sake Tour

30 Akita to Nyuto Hotspring (waiting for reservation books to open)

  • Onsen up baby!

31 Nyuto Hotspring to Hakodate (6 hours)

  • Last minute Onsen
  • Head to Hakodate
  • Arrive Hakodate early afternoon
  • Meander around town and check out the winter festival
  • Evening – view Goryokaku illumination

01 Jan Hakodate to Sapporo

  • Check out morning market
  • Head to Sapporo

01 – 05 AM – Sapporo

  • Winter Festival
  • Sapporo Beer Museum
  • Historic Village
  • Cooking Lesson Experience
  • Susukino
  • Nijo Market
  • Maybe day trip to Jozenki Onsen

05 Sapporo to Furano

  • Half day getting ski gear and passes

06 – 09 am

  • Skiing and checking ourt Furano
  • Day trip to Onsen if I'm suffering

09 Furano to Asahikwa

  • Winter festival
  • Ramen Village

10 Asahikawa to Otaru

  • Leave early for Otaru
  • Otaru canal
  • Music Box Museum
  • Taneka Sake Brewery
  • Winter light festival

11 Otaru to Noboribetsu

  • Onsen round two!

11 – 13 Noboribetsu Onsen Ryokan

13 Noboribetsu to Tokyo

  • Arrive Tokyo early evening

14 – 16 Tokyo

  • Akihabara
  • Teamlab planets
  • Shibuya
  • Gibli Museum (THIS MUST BE DONE!)
  • Tokyo National Museum
  • Whisky shopping

16 – PM – Leave

I'm intentionally keeping the itinerary somewhat lose and my activities for the days are objectives so if I have to drop one or two then I'm not too concerned. I am also working out the final travel details but some location I am waiting for acommodation bookings. Some of the places I want don't take reservations more than 3-6 months in advance.

What I would love is any additional suggestions for Tokyo, it's my 3rd time there so I've done the base touristy things. Any less known things would be great.
