First or second generation immigrants in US/Canada: Do your parents ever think of moving back to Japan (or have already done so)?

I'm a Japanese-Canadian living in Vancouver. Me and my parents have been here for almost 10 years, since I was 12. Both me and my much older brother have left home already, and my parents are already wanting to pack their bags and move back to Japan.

My dad in particular has never adapted well in this country. My mother's parents are still in Japan and they're very old so she wants to be there for them more. My parents really struggled when we first settled here but now they make a pretty decent combined salary, I think around 150k yearly (pre-tax), and yet they still struggle to pay off the mortgage. And I can see the problem because the cost of living in this country has skyrocketed. There are so many homeless people in the city and we don't feel safe going out anymore at night. Trudeau and his liberals are going for maximum damage before next year's election.

I also can't see myself living in Canada for the rest of my life. Me and my partner will spend a few months in Sweden with his family after our child is born in September, and we're also considering permanently moving to northern/central Europe (as he has EU citizenship). Many of our friends' parents who immigrated to Canada/US from Japan/Korea/China are also wanting to move back. Does anyone else have parents who are thinking of doing it, or have already left?
