Pros/cons of garage door types – roll-up vs. overhead sectional

I'm looking at Bunka Shutters line up and they have the "more common in Japan" style with the roll-up doors (巻取式/makitorishiki), and the ones I'm used to from the US — overhead sectional doors (オーバースライディングドア/over sliding door). They all can have remotes and/or smartphone capabilities, which is good.

Quick Google search says the roll-up doors are more industrial and can better handle heavy usage but maybe I've seen too many old/cheap ones here that makes me think otherwise. The overhead ones take up more space which may be another reason the roll-ups are more common here, but is there anything I should be aware of between the two? Any recommendations or experiences with either style to share? TIA.
